Once, while walking down the street in the evening, I heard a conversation between two elderly women: “All diseases are from nerves, one is only from love - venereal,” one old woman taught the other, “and even then, dear,” she continued to convince her interlocutor, “You and I are no longer threatened by the latter, so take care of your nerves.” The phrase I accidentally heard greatly amused me that evening. I came home from a walk in high spirits. - But this old lady is right! – I said loudly to myself. All diseases are caused by nerves... and poor health is precisely a consequence of our human experiences. An ordinary illness is formed on the basis of emotional outbursts (affects), in other words, uncontrolled emotional excitement. - Emotions are a direct temporary mental experience of a person’s attitude to various external or internal events. - Affect is a strong, violent, but relatively short-term emotional reaction to an external stimulus that completely captures the human psyche (rage, anger, horror, etc.). Psycho-emotional stress is accompanied by physiological changes in the human body. If it lasts too long or occurs very often, it can lead to illness (physical illness). Somatic disease is a bodily disease (see Wikipedia) - caused by external influences or internal disruption of the functioning of human organs and systems. Unfavorable psychological factors can “organize” the disease and provoke its relapse. The brain, as the main regulatory organ, determines not only the effectiveness of all physiological processes, but also the degree of psychological well-being (well-being) and self-satisfaction. If a person is not satisfied with himself, then he will have bad thoughts, which means he will definitely be in a bad mood. It turns out that a person’s health directly depends on his thoughts, and a person’s mood affects the occurrence and course of diseases. Emotional instability, irritability, increased impressionability, suspiciousness - these are the conditions for the occurrence of somatic diseases. Suspiciousness, suggestibility is a mental property that is not only innate, but also, to a greater extent, acquired in the process of upbringing and training. Imaginary illnesses arise more easily in the presence of contributing factors: neuropsychic stress and fatigue. Emotional stress (family troubles, work troubles, serious illness of loved ones, etc.) can cause serious somatic illnesses in a person. Many scientists claim that 80% of all diseases are psychosomatic. The remaining 20% are accidents. Thus, emotional instability and suspiciousness in people are the cause of somatic diseases. And any disease can be a response to a psychological problem. PS: Question: - Why don’t our compatriots with somatic problems often resort to psychological help? Answer: - Am I crazy, going to psychologists? This is the main reaction among our people to the offer to seek help from a psychologist.
