The real scourge of office workers, parents of large families and representatives of creative professions is burnout. This is also one of the surest roads leading to depression. This syndrome burns a person out from the inside and almost always requires the intervention of a psychotherapist. But, having discovered it in time, you can take steps that will help you cope with the problem with minimal expenditure of money, time and effort. How does burnout manifest itself? This syndrome is difficult to identify in the early stages stages and distinguish it from simple fatigue. It manifests itself as persistent fatigue, lack of desire to do anything. Moreover, if it all starts with difficulties at work, it gradually moves into the personal sphere. A burned out person stops developing himself and forgets about his favorite hobbies. Entertainment and relaxation are simplified to lying on the couch and consuming simple content. The next step is depression, during which you not only cannot work, but are not even able to begin to want anything. Physically, symptoms manifest themselves in the form of constant drowsiness, overeating or lack of appetite, dizziness. The most important criterion is that the listed above symptoms do not subside after a good rest and even a long vacation. This is the same case when, after another weekend, you still have difficulty coping with the load, which distinguishes burnout from ordinary overwork. What it looks like from the outside Burnout is dangerous both for the person himself and for those around him. In a work team, a burned out employee becomes a weak link. In addition, if one burns out, there is a risk that others will follow in his path. So, detection of the following signs is a reason to make adjustments to the specialist’s work, give him a rest, or at least just talk to him: 1. Limiting your social circle. A burned out person tries to communicate as little as possible, since even simple conversations take too much energy.2. Indifference, a formal approach to performing duties. The employee simply serves time at the workplace, often misses deadlines, and makes mistakes.3. Lack of plans and career ambitions.4. In some cases, there are clear manifestations of aggression and deviant behavior. Most often, a burnt out person is passive, but in some cases he becomes demonstrably aggressive.5. Difficulty making decisions. The employee stops taking responsibility and tries to shift it to management or colleagues. Having seen such changes in a person, you need to try to help him as much as possible. Often, if work in a team is poorly organized, if it is associated with constant stress and high workloads, entire teams burn out. What to do? As I wrote above, burnout is an area that a good psychologist should work with. However, in the first stages you can cope with its manifestations on your own. To do this you need: 1. Get your work in order. There is no need for achievements and exploits. It's enough just to learn how to manage your time. Plan your work day, get a planner. When completing one task in the time allotted for it, do not think about other projects. Don't do several things at once.2. Reduce stress at work. Don't be afraid to ask your boss for a break. This is about your health. Surely some of your responsibilities can be transferred to your colleagues, at least temporarily, without harm to the process.3. Make time for personal things. The end of the working day means that you are engaged and interested only in personal matters.4. Get rid of unnecessary responsibilities in your personal life. Stop “saving”, “helping” and other ways of influencing loved ones. Surely, like your colleagues, they will be able to take on part of your work.5. Don't demand too much from yourself. If you just want to lie down and watch TV series, lie down and watch. Do not engage in self-flagellation and do not compare yourself with others. All this will allow you to take a break and at least solve problems with physical exhaustion. If this is enough, your strength will gradually return. And on.
