You'll keep moving in silence. This expression doesn't suit everyone. In our society there are individuals who are capable of climbing over their heads towards their goal; such people are usually called “upstarts”. It is not difficult to distinguish such a person from an ordinary person; you can see them right away. It is important for these people to always be in sight, to be in the center of attention; they are not interested in being on the periphery. Many of us have met such people at school and in college, and simply in everyday life. As a rule, “upstarts” do not have deep knowledge, their knowledge is superficial. However, this does not stop them from distributing advice left and right. Lack of competence does not bother them at all. Pyotr Gannushkin (Russian and Soviet psychiatrist) called such people “salon fools.” Such people are also found in science; as a rule, they are well educated, but often superficially, they insert scientific words everywhere, conduct pseudoscientific discussions, try to enter into a discussion with the lecturer, although their knowledge does not allow them to do this. Very often they want to present themselves in the eyes of others as experts in a particular field, although they themselves are not such. The main thing for them is to show off. Once in a team, such people strive to be (ours and yours) and due to this they quickly climb up. Having climbed up, they strive to divide the team, turn it into loners, whom they pit against each other. This makes it easier for them to stay at the top. A lot of such people can become entrepreneurs, although their business does not stay afloat for long. Since such people tend to behave cyclically. During the period when they go up by stepping on the heads of others, they are in high spirits, they rejoice at their successes, they feel like kings of the world. After some time, such a person can lose everything, since he lacks competence in a number of issues. But he will not be upset like most people, but will continue to climb to the top again, or will take up any idea in which he alone believes. In psychiatry, it is customary to call this in one word Manic syndrome. Such people are always in high spirits, the affect of melancholy and sadness does not arise even when they should. They tend to choose many types of activities, but do not complete any of them. It follows from this that you should not be offended when meeting such people in your life. It is also not easy for them, they suffer from their hyperactivity, but not they can do nothing with themselves. Because they don’t turn to a psychiatrist for help, and they only find out about their diagnosis if they accidentally end up in the hospital with other problems.
